Get a LHP Library Card
Library Cards*
Lighthouse Point Library cards are free of charge for all Lighthouse Point residents, business owners, and their children. Adults and youth (under the age of 4 and over the age of 13) who do not reside in the City of Lighthouse Point (non-residents) are welcome to join the library for the low annual fee of $50.00 per family. Local students, who are 4 to 13 years of age, may apply for a library card with school documentation and a parent or guardian's identification and signature. Local certified teachers (public, private, and home school) with proper school, home school, or business documentation may be eligible for an educator card.
Patron Responsibilities
The Doreen Gauthier Lighthouse Point Library expects patrons to return all materials on or before the due date, to promptly pay any fines or damages for which they are responsible, and to give immediate notice of a change of address or telephone number.
Patrons are responsible for any item that anyone checks out on their library card. If your card is lost or stolen, report the loss at once by calling the library or by coming in person during normal business hours. There is a $1.00 charge to replace lost, damaged, or stolen cards.
Library cards provide onsite and remote access to numerous digital programs, online services, subscription databases, and e-content media. Access to these holdings, services, and programs is for personal use only and may not be used by another person, group, or institution.
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for deciding what books and other library materials are appropriate for their children and teenagers. The library may contain books and other materials that some parents find inappropriate for their own children and teenagers. The library encourages parents to help their children and teenagers select library resources in keeping with their family's values.
